Our Story:

Story Time!!!

So how did Bounce N’ Splash PR get started? What got us into bounce house rentals and waterslide rentals? My favorite answer to that is “by choice”! It was my wife Lakota being wise, and me being ambitious and crazy, being aggressive, and being prepared for the INSANE opportunity that life would put in front of us. After that, it was so much hard work and hustle it’s hard to describe.

This all got started in February 2021. I was an assistant plant manager at a local chemical treating plant. We were bought out twice in just a few months span. Trouble started at home and I was pushed out/left my job after 8 years of service. I remember face-timing my wife as I pulled out the plant gate for my very last time. With tears in my eyes, I told her I had “quit” my job. Although quit isn’t the best word to use. I was offered a lesser role, at half the income I was previously making. Her response was simple, “we will make this work.”

We had both worked full time jobs and helped out another inflatable company on the weekends. My wife really poured into it and helped all the time. When opportunity came, propositions were made but nothing ever came to fruition. No hard feelings for us! We knew the business well enough, enjoyed the work and loved meeting new people, so the decision was simple; sell our family boat and pull out of our 401k. We ordered six brand new units and got to work with the one unit we already owned. We were nervous, excited, happy and scared. So many mixed emotions all bundled together. 

So, ambitiously, we started working on a logo. I wanted it to be personable and fun. The design meant everything to me. It was family! The house represents what we were building, as well as a bounce house. The 4 smiling faces represent; myself, my wife and our two daughters but they also represent all the fun and laughter you and your family will enjoy when choosing us. And then the balloons were something festive and colorful to help celebrate any occasion. When our logo was finally finished we made a Facebook page and built a website. We posted them for rent and then in July, we got our first rental!

I still remember how weird it felt leaving our very own combo at a stranger’s house and driving away for the first time. Now we have 10 units and counting and we do everything ourselves; cleaning the units, delivering them, picking them up and all customer service things. Did I ever think I’d be your bounce house guy? Heck no! But I’ve always said no matter what I do in life, I’m going to be successful. It’s because I’m obsessed with business, intrigued by marketing, and enjoy leadership. I love to work. It’s my hobby. It’s my passion. As long as I’m busy, I’m satisfied. 

Thus far, Bounce N’ Splash has already given us so much joy in our lives. There has been a million lessons and funny stories along the way, but I’m so proud of what we’ve built. It’s allowed me to be in the classroom, helping teach kiddos. And given me the opportunity to chase another dream of mine , which is coaching basketball. So find something that you love to do and just keep doing it until people pay you for it!
